We’ve all watched West Wing and dreamt of someday sitting in the oval office drinking Scotch and making frantic phone calls. Sure, you don’t know anyone who could pull any strings for you and you haven’t spent the past decade interning in politics but still. A dream is a dream. But you know, it doesn’t necessarily have to be. Because former president Barack Obama is looking for 20 talented people to work alongside him as part of his Obama Foundation Fellowship Programme. He’s taken to Instagram to put a call out for ‘the next generation of leaders’ to take ‘their own crack at changing the world’. The two-year programme promises to ‘train and support civic innovators who are solving problems in their communities in creative and powerful ways’.
When I left office, I told you all that the single most important thing I could do would be to help prepare the next generation of leaders to take their own crack at changing the world. The @ObamaFoundation Fellows program is looking to do just that — train and support civic innovators who are solving problems in their communities in creative and powerful ways. Apply to join our inaugural class of twenty Fellows by Friday, October 6th: www.Obama.org/Fellowship
And it’s not just for American citizens either – the foundation says that its programme is looking for ‘outstanding civic innovators from around the world’ who work or specialise in all kinds of industries – artists, entrepreneurs, journalists, inventors and many more. And while it doesn’t promise you a fast track into the White House, the course does come with a lot of opportunities to take your career to the next stage.
