In Uganda, motorsport is the second most popular sport after soccer and thousands throng stage routes to cheer on their favourite drivers. In the heat of the moment, many of the fans stand too close to the roads and only disperse when the cars approach at high speed.
This has in turn brought into focus safety concerns which have remained a huge hurdle during this exciting sport. Many have died in accidents involving the vehicles and organizers keep improving safety measures in order to keep the fans safe.
